HEMORRHOIDS

Hemorrhoids (HEM-uh-roids) are swollen veins in your anus and lower rectum, which usually happens when there is extra pressure on these veins. Hemorrhoids can develop inside the rectum (internal hemorrhoids) or under the skin around the anus (external hemorrhoids), resulting in pain, itching, irritation, burning and sometimes bleeding. Over-the-counter (OTC) hemorrhoid treatments can help reduce swelling and pain.

- Stop use and ask a doctor if: bleeding occurs; condition worsens or does not improve within 7 days; an allergic reaction develops; the symptom being treated does not subside or if redness, irritation, swelling, pain, or other symptoms develop or increase.
